Personal Profile

Hello. My name is Mark Panes, and I am the proprietor of the outdoor personal training business in Prospect called Flatout Fitness, which I founded in 2006.

I am passionate about making people of all ages in the Prospect community, happy, mobile, strong, agile, and healthy. And we always train outdoors in the fresh air of the park.

I am particularly interested in being inclusive and helping clients manage injuries and working closely with allied health professionals on their client’s rehabilitation or injury management programs. I also like to help educate people about the benefits of staying active, making better food choices, and improving their eating habits without being too overbearing. My clients also benefit from the psychological advantages of social interaction, either with me or other group personal training clients, a health factor which cannot be overstated.

Prior to becoming a personal trainer, I worked as a Medical Scientist in diagnostic pathology for over 20 years. My work generally involved the diagnosis, treatment support and monitoring of patients with acute and chronic haematological diseases or conditions. It took me into the intensive care units and cancer clinics of two of Adelaide’s major private hospitals and these experiences led me to decide that I wanted to play a more proactive or preventative role in peoples’ health.

As such, I developed a strong desire to help people directly, either with their injury rehabilitation, preventing chronic disease and injury, and to get the most out of their body, not through short term “bikini body” weight loss or “crazy commando course” programs, but through sensible, safe, balanced and scientifically proven exercise routines and healthy eating advice.

If you believe that I could help you, then I would be happy to talk to you.

Thank you,

Mark Panes
